It depends on which wineries you choose to visit. You can have a full day of wine touring on your bikes with very little time on the roads.
We will talk you through the map and where the best places to bike are and direct you towards the quiet country roads, river trails, and bike paths.

You sure do! It’s law in NZ that anyone riding a bike needs to wear a helmet.

It doesn’t rain much in Marlborough, but if it does, it is not a problem.
If you have booked online, then we can refund your money, or if you are here for a couple of days, we can just transfer the booking to another day.
If you do choose to hire bikes on a rainy day some of the wineries are so close together you can normally avoid getting wet. If the heavens open and it pours we will come and rescue you.

You have a number of options and they are all good. Wairau River Winery Restaurant is an institution in the valley — consistently great food. We eat there a lot! Herzog Winery has great food and a gorgeous outside garden area to eat in. Geisen does fabulous platters that are filling, delicious and great value.
The starting point of your day has the Vines Village café, which has good counter food if you just want a quick sandwich, pie or muffin. Nautilus will put together a cheeseboard for you if a light lunch and a glass of wine are all you are after, and you can sit at a picnic table under a tree outside their cellar door.
Allan Scott winery also has a great restaurant with a lovely outdoor courtyard garden. These are just your options within 4 km from our base. If you are prepared to bike a bit further, we also recommend Saint Clair, Brancott Estate and Rockferry winery restaurants.

We do not pick up from Picton so we recommend you order a shuttle from Blenheim shuttles or Star Shuttles. The return cost tends to be about $200. Please check with the shuttle companies direct.
Alternatively, you can drive to the Vines Village and meet us there or catch a bus from Picton to Blenheim and we can pick you up from the Blenheim i-SITE.
Ask the Picton i-SITE about bus timetables.

This is a fun way to wine tour through the wineries. We provide you with a map of the Golden Mile circuit.
You collect stamps at each participating cellar door or food outlet you visit, and once you have collected you are eligible to purchase a gold medal at your final stop.
